Napa/ Sonoma:

 

Wineries

    • Amazing views, friendly staff, smooth wine

    • Sparkling wine, sit-down tasting; Can consider sharing 1 tasting betwee 4 people

  • Castello di Amorosa (4045 Saint Helena Highway, Calistoga, CA 94515)

    • Castle; Unless you want to look at the dungeon, we wouldn't recommend the full tour

  • Sterling Vineyards (1111 Dunaweal Lane, Calistoga, CA 94515)

    • Who can pass up a gondola ride? Tour of wine-making facilities; Free wine glass included

  • Francis Ford Coppola Winery (Napa Airport Center, 620 Airpark Road, Napa, CA 94558)

    • Vintage cars and movie sets to go with your wine tastings

    • Really great picnic food, but a bit touristy

    • Recommended by Sunset Magazine; Free food with tasting

    • Interesting indoor market; a number of different food options

  • Bouchon Bakery (6528 Washington St, Yountville, CA 94599

    • Get ready to wait in line for Macarons

  • Ad Hoc Addendum (6476 Washington St, Yountville, CA 94599)

    • Amazing lobster rolls (boxed lunches), but only open thursdays through saturdays

San Francisco

 

Touristy Attractions

  • Golden Gate Bridge

    • Bonus if you go biking across the bridge

  • Palace of Fine Arts

    • Beautiful architecture

  • Golden Gate Park

    • Japanese Tea Garden; Rose Garden

  • California Academy of the Sciences or Exploratorium

    • Interactive science museums that are interesting for adults too (Check out Thursdays nights)

  • Ferry Building

    • Famer's Market on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays

  • Fisherman's Wharf

    • Not worth the hype, but if it's your first time in SF, go check it out.
